Whitby Thank You Weekend Terms
The weekend is provisionally scheduled to take place on Friday 2 and Saturday 3 October 2020, government lock-down conditions permitting.
Applications and Nominations (the Nominee) are open to Frontline NHS staff on COVID-19 wards.
Whitby is a beautiful destination and the weekend is expected to be oversubscribed. Nominations, which must meet the criteria, will close on 31 July 2020 and will be awarded by the random selection process detailed below. This should allow time for NHS staff to arrange shift changes or annual leave ahead of the proposed date.
The selection of Nominees will be made randomly. The final list of nominations will be derived by:
a) Finalising the list of qualifying Nominees by removing all non qualifying nominees. A qualifying Nominee must be an NHS worker who works or has worked directly on a Covid-19 ward and or in an intensive care unit during the Covid-19 epidemic. Though we would love to provide this offer for all key workers there simply isn't enough capacity. This does not mean that we don't appreciate everything that the many key workers have done, it is simply that we only have a limited supply of accommodation.
b) Using randomly generated numbers, the final list will be sorted into random order and the successful nominees will be allocated to the available accommodation in this numerical order. This method guarantees that the successful Nominees will be selected randomly.
Those Nominees which have been selected will be contacted after this date with details of the offer of a weekend stay. The nominee must accept the offer online. Those Nominees that have accepted the offer will then be given details on on how to book accommodation and offers. Participating accommodation providers will accept bookings from selected nominations on proof of eligibility by photographic evidence of NHS ID card. Each accommodation provider has their own T&Cs which will apply to the reservation.
IMPORTANT: Any Nominee that fails to accept the offer online within 7 days and or to book their accommodation by the deadline provided will automatically forfeit their offer, which will then be passed on to the next Nominee on the list of applicants.
Your accommodation provider will provide you with full details of the participating hospitality businesses in Whitby and how to claim their offer. The offers will also be allocated to successful applicants, also using a randomised selection process. No offers (including but not limited to free meals, free drinks etc) can be guaranteed as the demand may outstrip supply. The accommodation provider will take no responsibility for these offers and any issues which may arise therefrom.
IMPORTANT: If the successful Nominee fails to book any offers that require an advanced booking (for example a free meal) within the required period, that offer will be forfeited and potentially offered to the next available Nominee on the list.
Should the current COVID-19 lock-down stay in place for hospitality providers over the proposed weekend of 2/3 October the offer will become void. ( If possible an alternative date may be arranged but this cannot be guaranteed.) All selected Nominees will be kept informed, however if alternative arrangements cannot be made then they will regretfully be informed that the weekend is cancelled.
As this offer is for free services and accommodation by way of a thank you, none of the participating businesses will be held responsible for any cancellations or withdrawals of offers, and no Nominees will be required to make any contributions by way of their own decision to cancel.
